Jang Yu-bin took sole 1st place in the 2nd round of the Korea Professional Golf Association (KPGA) Tour Biz Play Wonder
Club Open (total prize money of 700 million won).
Jang Yu-bin recorded a 5-under 66 with 7 birdies and 1 double bogey in the second round of the tournament held on the
28th at Incheon Club 72CC Sky Course (par 71, 7,103 yards).
Jang Yu-bin, who shot a total of 130 strokes, 12 under par, reached the halfway point of the tournament in sole first place,
one stroke ahead of Choi Seung-bin, who is in sole second 추천 place.
Jang Yu-bin won the Gunsan CC Open in August last year while still an amateur, and later won the gold medal in the men's
team event at the Hangzhou Asian Games in October.
He turned pro after the Asian Games and has finished runner-up twice this year, and tied for third place at the Korea Open
last week.
Jang Yu-bin, who has no wins this season but is ranked first in scoring average (69.81 strokes), said in a post-game
interview, "My putting has improved this year, so my confidence has grown, and this is leading to my performance,"
adding, "However, I feel like I haven't been able to get past the final step to win."
He, who ranks first in average driving distance this season with 313.3 yards, said, "I hit a double bogey on the 17th hole
(par 4) today, but since I'm a long hitter, my accuracy was a bit low and I made a mistake with my tee shot," and pointed
out areas for improvement, saying, "I often lose a lot of points on a single hole like this."
Jang Yu-bin said, "This season's goal is to win the Genesis Award," and added, "This course requires a strategy of cutting
the ball rather than just sending it far, so wedge shots and putting battles will be important," revealing her strategy for the
remaining 3rd and 4th rounds.
Choi Seung-bin, winner of the KPGA Championship last June, recorded 11-under 131 strokes, finishing the tournament in
sole second place after tying for second the previous day.
Jin-ho Choi, who has 8 wins on the tour, shot 6 birdies on this day to finish in sole 3rd place with a 10-under 132.
Seo Yeo-seop, who was in the lead the day before, fell to a tie for 6th place with an 8-under 134 after making three bogeys
in the last four holes.
Kim Min-kyu, who won the Korea Open last week, lost six strokes on the day and finished with a score of 6-over 148,
falling far short of the cut threshold of 2-under par.
